The biggest national celebration of Britain’s best food is taking place this autumn. British Food Fortnight (Sept. 23-Oct.8) is marking its fifth year with the theme “Are you cooking it?” which examines whether the British are able to cook national dishes such as shepherd’s pie or apple crumble.

During the two weeks shops will have tastings and promotions of seasonal ingredients while restaurants will be putting “traditional dishes with a modern twist” on their menus. Cooks and chefs across the country will visit schools to help teachers organise cooking activities and encourage children to get involved in food and cooking.
