Ceramics Festival in The Potteries

Designers, studio potters, experts and collectors will be making their way to The Potteries this autumn for the Stoke-on-Trent Ceramics Festival 2007 (Oct.5-7).

Designers, studio potters, experts and collectors will be making their way to The Potteries this autumn for the Stoke-on-Trent Ceramics Festival 2007 (Oct.5-7). Hosted in the Cultural Quarter and various locations around the city, the festival will be a showcase for contemporary lifestyle ceramics and examine the impact of ceramics on the world. Events include lectures, workshops, tours and demonstrations, many of which will be free.

Stoke-on-Trent is made up of six different towns, commonly known as The Potteries due to their rich heritage in the pottery industry with famous names such as Wedgwood, Spode and Clarice Cliff all originating in this area. Many factories have visitor centres, museums and shops.
