A new contemporary hotel has opened in the historic town of Gretna Green in the south east of Scotland. Smiths is a boutique hotel with 50 bedrooms and suites and is alongside the World Famous Old Blacksmith’s Shop Centre where eloping couples in the 18th century would be married under Scottish law. Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh is home to a new, £12 million boutique hotel which incorporates a bar, brasserie and nightclub. Le Monde, on George Street in the city’s New Town, has 18 suites all designed with a different destination as inspiration, including Miami, Havana, Sydney and Dublin, in a redeveloped Georgian building.
