Tango dancing workshops, literary readings and headline acts such as Snow Patrol will be part of a new festival in Suffolk, Eastern England this summer. Latitude (July 14-16) at the Henham Park Estate near the fashionable seaside resort of Southwold is organised by Mean Fiddler which also runs the Reading and Glastonbury festivals. They say it will be inspired by European festivals to bring a diverse range of performing arts with a “genteel, less manic feel.”

The three main stages will host acts such as Antony and the Johnsons and Mogwai while literature, poetry and comedy will also be showcased throughout the festival. The ‘best little cabaret house in Suffolk’ will feature interactive events such as karaoke and tassel twirling and visitors will be able to walk between theatre, film and art in this tree lined estate. Henham Park – 110 miles north east of London — has been owned by the Rous family since 1544. Tickets from £40 per day, tel: 0870 060 3775.
