Hi-tech Titanic trail in Belfast

Belfast in Northern Ireland has launched a hi-tech walking trail enabling visitors to follow the story of the ill-fated liner RMS Titanic. The self-guided tour, The Titanic Trail, claimed to be the first of its kind, uses global positioning system (GPS) technology to offer multi-media interpretation blended with an interactive treasure trail.

Starting at the city’s Welcome Centre, participants use the latest handheld media player as the Titanic story unfolds before them. The White Star liner was built in the city and a new Titanic Quarter is taking shape around the historic dock where the massive vessel was constructed and from where it was launched.
