Valldemossa Hotel, Mallorca

Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands where you'll find year-round sunshine, fine sandy beaches, clear blue Mediterranean waters and hedonistic adventure. But if you're looking for a tranquil escape in one of the islands most charming and unspoiled regions, head to the small, picturesque town of Valldemossa on the northwest coast of Mallorca. Here you'll be surrounded by a magnificent landscape of plains and mountains, hilltop villages, olive groves and hidden beaches. Visit the fascinating Carthusian monastery where Frédéric Chopin spent a ' winter of discontent' with his lover Georges Sand in 1838-39, composing some of his finest works.
